FAQ

General

Who is CatSynth?

CatSynth is a small company based in Germany that designs and hand-builds Eurorack modules. Our main focus is on narrow 2HP “slimline” modules that offer maximum functionality in minimal space.

Yes. Design, small-batch assembly, final assembly and final testing are done in-house. Where we work with external partners, we choose them very carefully, and every module is tested before it ships.

Our modules follow the Eurorack format based on the Doepfer standard. If in doubt, please check the technical data of the module and your case.

Ordering & Payment

Do I need a customer account to place an order?

You don’t have to create an account to order, but it makes future orders and tracking your shipments easier. You can also check out as a guest.

We support common online payment methods. The available options are shown during checkout.

As long as your order has not yet been packed or shipped, we will do our best to change or cancel it. Please contact us as quickly as possible via the contact form and include your order number.

At the moment, no. CatSynth is currently exempt from charging VAT under the German small business regulation (§19 UStG), so we do not show VAT separately on our invoices. You will, of course, receive a proper invoice with all relevant details for your records.

Shipping & Delivery

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship from Germany within Germany and to nearly all EU countries. The available destination countries and the corresponding shipping costs are shown during checkout.

Shipping costs depend on the destination, shipping service and order value. You will see the exact costs in your cart and during checkout before you place your order.

Within Germany, typical delivery time is around 2-4 business days. Within the EU it’s usually around 5-7 business days. Please note that customs processing and local postal services can add extra time.

Yes, we normally ship with tracking. You will receive the tracking information by email once your order has been dispatched.

For some regions outside of the EU we work with selected distribution partners (for example Juno Records in the UK). Ordering through them can make customs and shipping easier. Availability of modules may differ from the stock in our own webshop.

Returns, Right of Withdrawal & Warranty

Can I return my order?

If you are a consumer within the EU, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal starting from the day you receive your order. Full details are available in our shop’s cancellation policy.

Please contact us before sending anything back, using the contact form and including your order number and a short description. We will then send you information on the returns process. We cannot accept parcels sent “freight collect”/unpaid.

Modules should be undamaged, complete and, if possible, returned in their original packaging. Signs of improper installation or damage may reduce the amount we can refund.

Please contact us immediately with your order number, a short error description and, if possible, photos or a short video. We will assess the case and offer repair, replacement or a refund, depending on the situation.

Our modules are covered by the statutory warranty period applicable in your country. Details can be found in our Terms & Conditions (T&Cs).

Products & Technical Information

Are patch cables, power supplies or cases included?

No. Our products are single Eurorack modules. To use them you will need a suitable Eurorack case with power supply as well as patch cables, which are not included.

On each product page in the shop you’ll find the most important technical specifications. Detailed manuals and additional information are linked there as well.

Power consumption depends on the module and is listed for each product in the manual linked on the product page (separately for +12 V and –12 V, and +5 V where applicable). Please check that your case has sufficient power headroom before installing the module.

Our modules ship with a ribbon cable. When installing, always pay close attention to the correct orientation (+12 V / “red stripe” marking) and the instructions in the manual. Incorrect polarity can cause damage that is not covered by warranty.

Currently we do not (or only in very limited cases). If you are interested in DIY versions, feel free to contact us – it helps us gauge demand for future products.

Dealers, Larger Orders & B2B

I run a shop – can I stock CatSynth modules?

Yes, we’re happy to hear from retailers. Please use the contact form and let us know your company name, website and which modules/quantities you are interested in.

Depending on the products and quantities, we can offer individual quotes. Please contact us with a rough list of the modules you have in mind.

Support & Contact

How can I contact support?

The easiest way is through the contact form in the shop. Please include your order number, the module name and a short description of the issue so we can help you quickly.

We aim to reply to all enquiries within 1–3 business days. During busy periods (for example around trade shows or holidays) it may take a bit longer.

Yes, you can find CatSynth on selected platforms (e.g. Instagram and others). Links are available in the shop.

Miscellaneous

Can I meet you at trade fairs or events?

From time to time we attend synth fairs and local events. Announcements will be posted on our website and social media channels.

Definitely! Many features grow out of real-world feedback. Even if we can’t implement every idea immediately, your input helps us improve and shape future modules.
