Slimline Dual Attenuverter

2× Attenuverter + offset, normalized signal flow – precise CV control for Eurorack in 2HP

More control means more music: the Slimline Dual Attenuverter is your compact “shaper” for voltages—whenever a patch works, but doesn’t respond exactly the way you want. Whether you want to gently dose modulation, flip it completely, or shift it into a different operating range: this 2HP utility brings order, playability, and precision to your system. Instead of living with “too much,” “too little,” or “the wrong direction,” you shape CV and audio so that downstream modules (filters, VCAs, waveshapers, FM inputs, panners, FX, LPGs) react stably, repeatably, and musically.

In modular setups, different voltage worlds collide all the time: LFOs modulate too hard, envelopes open a VCA too far, a random generator pushes your filter the wrong way, or a sequencer has the right rhythm but not the voltage range for the “sweet spots.” That’s exactly where the Dual Attenuverter shines: it’s not loud, not flashy—but it’s the difference between “the patch runs” and “the patch feels right”.

Why a dual attenuverter?

  • Modulation under control: attenuate, boost, or invert—so filter sweeps, FM and timbre mods land exactly where you want
  • Targeted offsetting: push voltages into the ideal working range (sweet spots instead of lucky hits)
  • Patch hygiene & performance: quick adjustments in a live setup without repatching or building “workarounds”

2HP compact – two channels you’ll use constantly

With just 2HP of width, the Slimline Dual Attenuverter fits into any Eurorack system—even densely packed performance racks. And that’s where it quickly becomes a permanent fixture: you get two normalized channels that give you what’s often missing in a patch: a fast, clean “pit stop” to bring signals into shape before they do their next job.

The normalization is more than a convenience feature. It helps you build patches quickly: use the two channels independently—or feed one channel and (depending on your patch logic) conveniently route the signal to the second channel to further scale it, invert it, or move it into a different offset range. That turns a small utility into a flexible voltage command center, without sacrificing precious mults or mixer channels.

Attenuverter: direction, depth and intensity with one turn

An attenuverter is the Swiss Army knife of modulation: it lets you attenuate an incoming signal—and, crucially, invert it. In practice that means: an LFO that “opens” your filter can just as easily “close” it. An envelope that hits a VCA too aggressively becomes controllable. And a modulation that is already too intense at tiny knob movements suddenly becomes sensitive and playable.

This kind of control instantly feels musical, because you’re no longer working “against” your patch. You decide how strong a source is allowed to be—and in which direction. Especially with parameters that behave non‑linearly (resonance, fold amount, FM index, drive), it’s a game changer: instead of constantly falling out of the sweet spot, you keep the movement exactly where it sounds good.

Offset: sweet spots, centering and intentional voltage shifting

The second knob per channel—offset—is the quiet hero. It shifts your signal up or down, regardless of whether an input signal is present. That lets you “center” modulations, define operating ranges, and bias parameters so they behave musically.

Typical situations: a filter should be slightly open by default and only modulate “around that point”. A VCA should never fully close because you need a minimal drone base. A waveshaper sounds best when it’s already being driven a bit, and modulation only adds small movements. Or you want to move a bipolar LFO into a purely positive range so you modulate only “more” instead of “more/less”. That’s exactly what offset is for: it turns a modulation source into a purposeful control signal.

And because offset is directly accessible per channel, the module also works as a quick “manual controller”: with no external source, you can set a constant voltage and fine‑tune it live—ideal for matching parameters or catching a patch on the fly.

Normalized channels – patch fast, work logically

The normalized signal routing is especially useful for performance patches: feed one signal and create an alternative scaling or inversion on the second channel without extra mults. That makes it easy to drive two destinations with correlated but opposite modulations: filter up, VCA down—or left/right panning against each other. Likewise, you can first scale a source roughly and then use offset to place it precisely in the desired range. It saves cables, saves modules—and keeps patches tidy.

Typical applications

  • Refine filter sweeps: dose LFO/envelope and keep it in the sweet spot with offset
  • Inversion: flip modulation (e.g., “ducking” effects: VCA down when the filter goes up)
  • FM & timbre: fine‑tune modulation depth without it instantly becoming “too much”
  • Adjust unipolar/bipolar: shift LFOs into positive ranges or center them around zero
  • Performance fine‑tuning: quick manual corrections in a live patch, without repatching
  • Constant CV: use offset as a stable control voltage (e.g., base opening, drive bias)

The Slimline Dual Attenuverter is exactly the kind of utility you rarely buy “for the feature”—but you’ll never want to be without after a short time. Two channels you’ll use constantly, a layout that’s instantly clear, and the kind of control that turns good patches into reliable, musical patches: small in the rack, big in the result.
